Congratulations to Mrs. Davis, fondly known as “the Crazy Moon Lady” at Windsor Charter Academy, on a truly outstanding accomplishment! Mrs. Davis has been selected for the International Space Teacher Liaison (ISTL) Program through the Space Foundation, a prestigious and highly competitive honor that recognizes exceptional space and STEM educators from around the globe.

Applications for the Winter Cohort of the STEM Research Program are now open!  Led by researchers at MIT, Caltech, and Stanford, the STEM Research Program introduces ambitious students to the cutting edge of their scientific field of interest. Students will work 1-on-1 with a PhD mentor and create an independent research project.

We need your support to make our home VEX Robotics tournament, The Firebird Feud, a success on Saturday, January 24th. Witness high-energy competition among 32 VEX teams battling it out in this year's game, Push Back.

All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will take the PSAT/SAT practice test on Friday, January 16th. Once testing is complete, the school day will be over. There will be no school for seniors on that day.

The Windsor Charter Academy High School Student Council is hosting a Movie Day on December 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., directly after final exams. Students have the opportunity to watch Elf. Free popcorn will be served, and concessions will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing our students there!

Last week, I was honored and thrilled to be named the new high school principal! Many Windsor Charter Academy families may already know me from my five years serving as Assistant Principal with Hannah Mancina. Hannah opened our high school ten years ago and has done a phenomenal job creating a school with top academic standards, caring, highly qualified teachers and staff, and exceptional student support.

Please join us on Thursday, December 11th, for our MS/HS Winter Concert & Art Show held in the Firebird Facility. Middle school will perform starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by high school starting at 6:30 p.m.

Students should have received an email from Aims Community College to their Aims email account regarding the 1098-T tax form. Please note that students do not need to provide their social security numbers to Aims. There is no obligation or penalty for choosing not to submit this information.

Windsor Charter Academy Early College High School is part of the NASA Community College network. Our students are invited to participate in the first-ever Presidential AI Challenge, a national competition where middle and high school students use artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems.

We want to ensure that our attendance processes continue to run smoothly for students and families. Please take a moment to review the reminders below to ensure a timely, safe check-out process for all students.

High school students will have review sessions for final exams beginning December 11th. Students will take final exams from December 15th through 18th. Students will be released early at 11:04 a.m. on December 17th and 18th.

Five students from the WCA High School Mixed Choir have auditioned and been accepted to participate in the Patriot League Honor Choir - Kelvin A., Bentley C., Alaina D., Anna G., and Bailey M.

We are excited to spotlight our high school departments, allowing students and families to learn more about the outstanding staff who support our Firebirds every day. This month, we are highlighting our incredible English teachers!

Our Lost & Found is filling up! Do you recognize any of the items pictured below? If so, please remind your student to pick them up. Any unclaimed items will be donated on the last day of each month.

In celebration of Halloween, high school students can participate in a costume contest on Friday, October 31st. The student who wins the costume contest will be awarded a Free Dress Day Pass for Monday, November 3rd. All costumes must comply with dress code guidelines.

Windsor Charter Academy welcomes families and veterans to our Veterans Day Assembly on November 11th in the Firebird Facility Gym! The assembly will begin at 2:15 p.m., but visitor check-in will start at 1:45 p.m. at the south door of the Firebird Facility. We are excited to honor those who have served our country!

Experience Aims is a conference-style event where students can choose hands-on Exploring Academics Sessions that align with their interests. Space is limited and will fill quickly, so please encourage your students to register today!

We would like to remind all middle and high school families that there are designated drop-off and pick-up areas, as outlined on our website. Please ensure that these designated areas are used for student arrival and dismissal.
