The Evan Cole Memorial Scholarship

Windsor Charter Academy established the Evan Cole Memorial Scholarship to honor the life and character of Evan Cole, whose tenacity, compassion, humor, and competitive spirit left a lasting impression on the peers, coaches, and staff who knew him. Confident in who he was and generous to those around him, Evan made a meaningful impact on our Firebird Family. This scholarship ensures that the qualities Evan modeled every day continue to be recognized and celebrated in the students who share them.

A Scholarship Built on Character

This scholarship is not awarded for what a student has achieved on paper. It is awarded for who they are and how they show up for others. Each year, teachers, coaches, and staff nominate a student who may have faced loss or medical challenges and who continues to meet life with the same tenacity, compassion, humor, and drive that defined Evan. Special consideration is given to students who have lost a parent or immediate family member, reflecting Evan's own story and our commitment to students who carry both grief and strength.

The recipient receives a $3,000 scholarship, presented at the Windsor Charter Academy Senior Breakfast.

How Your Gift Makes a Difference

Every donation goes directly to the Evan Cole Memorial Scholarship Fund. In recognition of Evan's commitment to basketball, we also established the Cole Memorial Basketball Tournament, and the net proceeds from each tournament support the scholarship fund.

Your gift helps ensure the award continues year after year, so that a student who has carried more than most receives recognition, encouragement, and practical support as they take their next step after graduation.
