Mission Statement

Windsor Charter Academy provides our students with a solid academic foundation through our K-8 Core Knowledge and our rigorous 9-12 early college high school curricula. Our culture empowers our students to achieve academic excellence through critical thinking, character development, and a love for lifelong learning.

Board Meetings 

Windsor Charter Academy’s Executive Board meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Work sessions are held the week prior to the regular session and begin at 5:00 p.m. Regular sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. All meetings are held in the middle school media center.

The media center has limited seating for Executive Board Meetings. Once capacity is reached, stakeholders will be directed to view the meeting via live stream from the middle school commons. Once a board meeting has begun, to minimize disruption for presenters, entry into the media center will be paused until presentations have concluded. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Board Policies

The Windsor Charter Academy Executive Board adheres to official Board Policies.  

Windsor Charter Academy adopts the same policies as Weld RE-4 School District. Many policies are different only with respect to delegation of authority. Unless specified as “Adopted by WCA”, the policies listed are as adopted by the Weld RE-4 School District. Some Weld RE-4 district policies are not applicable to Windsor Charter Academy and are waived without replacement.

Board Committees

Board Committees support Executive Board members in their work in governance and oversight. Each committee has one board member liaison and a committee member who serves as the chairperson. Please sign up if you are interested in serving on any of the committees below.

• Safety Committee: The Safety Committee’s purpose encompasses a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, physical safety, environmental safety, internet safety, and emotional safety. The committee focuses on diligent exploration and research to develop appropriate options and safeguards to increase our schools' safety.

• Education Committee: The Education Committee serves to strengthen the school's overall educational program. This committee assists the administrator and teachers in providing students with the highest quality educational program possible by 1) researching new and existing curricular and instructional approaches, 2) evaluating and synthesizing information, and 3) sensing parent and school/community needs.

• School Accountability Committee (SAC)

  • If you are interested in serving on the WCA School Accountability Committee, please email Dr. Rebecca Teeples, Executive Director of Schools.

• Finance Committee

  • If you are interested in serving on the WCA Finance Committee, please email SarahGennie Colazio, Director of Finance & HR. Members of this committee need to have a background in finance. This committee is by invitation only.

• Election Committee

  • The WCA Election Committee oversees the annual Executive Board Elections. If you are interested in serving on the WCA Election Committee, please email the WCA Election Committee.
