Giving Back: Our First WCA Day of Service

We are excited to kick off a new tradition at Windsor Charter Academy High School - our first Day of Service, scheduled for Friday, October 2nd. Each Day of Service will give students the chance to step outside the classroom, serve others, strengthen our school and community, and make progress toward their required service hours.

Students will choose from several meaningful projects, both on our campus and throughout the community:

  • Campus Facilities Support: Help with projects around our school campus for two hours.

  • School Garden: Care for and maintain our school garden. 6 spots available.

  • FoCo Café (Fort Collins): Volunteer with this well-regarded local organization. 8 spots available ($7 bus fee).

  • Weld County Food Bank: Support our local food bank and the community members it serves. 25 spots available ($7 bus fee).

  • Loveland No-Cost Market: Serve alongside an organization that provides essential resources to community members. 10 spots available ($7 bus fee).

  • Windsor Safe Trail Project: Help make our community trails safer for everyone. Students may serve at Mountain View Elementary School (10 spots available) or Skyview Elementary School (10 spots available) ($7 bus fee).

Service is a meaningful part of developing responsible, compassionate, and engaged young adults, and we hope this first Day of Service marks the beginning of many opportunities for our students to make a difference, both on campus and throughout our community.

Sign-up information and additional details will be shared with students in the coming days. We encourage students to watch for that information and choose the opportunity that interests them.

We cannot wait to see our Firebirds serving, leading, and giving back.
