Certified Substitute Program

Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching at Windsor Charter Academy! To become a substitute teacher for our schools, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Apply for a Substitute Authorization

Apply for a Substitute Authorization through the Colorado Department of Education Licensing Division by visiting their website at: https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/licensure_subapp

  • Substitutes can apply for a:

    • 1-year license for Windsor Charter Academy only.

    • 3-year license with a bachelor's degree.

    • 5-year license with an expired teaching license or an out-of-state license.

  • Get Fingerprints for CDE and use this link and these codes. Do not select “Charter”.

  • If you hold a current teaching license or substitute license, please proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Apply to be a Certified Substitute

We will review your application and contact you based on the information you provide. If selected, you will complete onboarding and be scheduled for orientation.
