Meet Sean McCauley, Director of Facilities Management
Windsor Charter Academy is excited to welcome Sean McCauley as our new Director of Facilities Management!
Sean’s journey to Windsor Charter Academy is one filled with service, leadership, and a lifelong passion for helping others. Born and raised in Colorado, he grew up in Longmont, where his father served as a police officer. Inspired by his dad’s example, Sean always wanted to be involved in helping during emergencies—not standing on the sidelines. Ironically, despite being afraid of heights and never envisioning himself as a firefighter, he dedicated a significant part of his career to the fire service.
Sean began volunteering with Mountain View Fire Rescue at just 18 years old. He worked his way up from firefighter to Captain, eventually serving as Fire Chief for the Milliken Fire Protection District. Afterward, he transitioned into healthcare, where he discovered a new calling—helping organizations become more efficient and effective. At the Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital, Sean spent 14 years in materials management before serving as a Facilities Director, where he earned recognition for leading the most efficient supply chain among 35 hospitals in the network. He later worked in facilities management roles with UCHealth Mountain Crest Behavioral Health Hospital and the Orthopedic & Spine Center of the Rockies before joining Windsor Charter Academy.
Known for his calm leadership and ability to “organize chaos,” Sean thrives in environments where he can bring structure and stability—whether leading an emergency response or managing complex facility operations.
A Windsor resident of four years, Sean is a devoted father and grandfather with four daughters, one stepdaughter, and one granddaughter. He proudly proclaims that being a “girl dad” is his favorite title. In his free time, Sean enjoys traveling, camping, and exploring history, with a particular love for world and colonial history and historic architecture. He’s visited Ireland twice, taken his daughters on a trip to Europe, and dreams of one day living by the ocean.
Sean wasn’t actively seeking a new role when he came across the opening at Windsor Charter Academy, but something about the school’s culture and community resonated deeply with him. He knew it was the kind of place where he could continue making a difference—and eventually retire.
We’re thrilled to have Sean as part of our Firebird Family and look forward to the expertise, leadership, and steady presence he brings to our campuses!
