During Homecoming Week, our high school girls' volleyball teams faced off against Platte Valley High School, with matches for the C Team, JV, and varsity teams.
Varsity Team: The varsity match was marked by intense competition. In the first set, despite strong efforts from both teams, Platte Valley secured a 25-11 victory. The second set saw the Firebirds battling hard, but Platte Valley edged them out again, 25-13. The final set was another tough fight, but Platte Valley ultimately took the win, closing the match 25-11. The Firebirds fell to Platte Valley with a final score of 3-0.
JV Team: The JV team faced a challenging start, dropping the first set 25-9. Despite their determined efforts in the second set, Platte Valley's defense proved too strong, leading to a 25-5 loss. The Firebirds showed great resilience in the final set, narrowly losing 25-22.
C Team: The C Team put up a spirited fight throughout their match. Although they fell in the first set, the Firebirds rallied to secure a close win in the second set. In the decisive third set, however, Platte Valley managed to clinch the victory.
Overall, it was a tough day for the Firebirds, but the players displayed great determination and sportsmanship throughout their matches.
