Update: Healthy School Meals for All Program

During the recent special session, Colorado’s legislature passed Senate Bill 25B-003, which updates Proposition MM to allow any excess funds in the Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) fund to also support SNAP. The bill outlines funding priorities in this order: HSMA meal reimbursements, supplemental grant and technical assistance programs, and SNAP.

Updated revenue projections have shifted how Propositions LL and MM may affect the HSMA program. By law, the program must have at least $150 million from new and existing sources to continue serving all sites for the 2025-26 school year. Earlier projections showed Proposition MM needed to pass to reach this threshold. Now, based on current estimates, the program will meet the requirement if either measure passes.

  • If one or both measures pass in November, HSMA will continue at all sites for the 2025-26 school year.

  • If neither passes, HSMA will be limited to eligible sites beginning January 2026.

428 pounds of organic food harvested

We have had a fantastic growing season and have harvested over 428 pounds of fresh, organic produce this year! This includes cherry tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, and onions. These fresh vegetables have been processed by our kitchen staff, used as ingredients in our delicious lunches, and served in the salad bar. This school year, we have added signs to the salad bar to help highlight the fruits and veggies that are grown in our school’s garden. Be sure to ask your students if they have tried any garden-fresh produce in their school meals!
