Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) will be held daily, and all 9th through 11th-grade students will be assigned to an ELO class, with attendance being taken. Teachers will draft students into their classroom for additional teaching or enrichment on a rotating basis. If students are not drafted, they will use their ELO as an additional study hall to work on homework.
This year, we are using a program called RTI Scheduler, which will allow teachers to draft (request) students they need to work with for additional teaching or enrichment. If a teacher drafts a student, the student is required to attend this session with the teacher and must report to this class, rather than their homeroom ELO. If a student is drafted and does not report to the requested classroom, this student will be marked ABSENT, even if they are present in their homeroom. Students have been given ample instruction on how to utilize the RTI Scheduler and are provided with an overhead reminder each day before ELO begins to log in and check where they are to report for ELO. Students can also check in at the high school front office if they are confused about where to report. Please discuss the ELO process with your student to ensure they understand it, and remind them that they will be marked with an unexcused absence if they do not report to the designated ELO room on any given day. We kindly ask parents to refrain from checking their students out of the building during ELO time.
