Our kindergarten students will meet Nyasha Williams, the author of “What's the Commotion in the Ocean?” This amazing opportunity will expand student learning of our kindergarten Core Knowledge topics of reduce, reuse, recycle and taking care of the earth. Ms. Williams will read aloud her amazing story and bring autographed copies for purchase!

We are proud to announce our very first elementary school Running Club that is open to all 2nd and 3rd graders! Ms. Ocasio will be leading this club. For four weeks, students will learn about the fundamentals of running and will participate in strength, endurance, and sprinting drills.

From March 1st through March 18th, our Cub Scouts will be hosting a Diaper Drive for families in need of diapers. According to The Nappie Project, one in three families struggle to provide enough diapers for their children.

Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will take the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) state assessments in English language arts (ELA) and math. Fifth grade students will also take the science CMAS assessment.

Our administration and classroom teachers have the responsibility to place all children within an environment that best suits their academic, social, and behavioral needs. Parents may give input on their child’s classroom environment by submitting a Learning Environment Input Form.

Our elementary school Student Council is proud to launch their quarter 3 spirit day! On Thursday, March 19th, students can wear comfy clothes to kick off spring break.

Our Spring Break Girls’ Volleyball Camp will focus on fundamental volleyball skills, including: serving, setting, spiking, and individual/team development. This camp is open to WCA students and members of the public!

We are excited to offer a VEX IQ Robotics Summer Camp to all incoming 4th - 8th grade students for the 2020-2021 school year! This camp is open to the public.

We are excited about our Morning with Mom event on March 5th from 7:15 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. in the gymnasium. Come enjoy juice, donuts, muffins, and other tasty treats with your children!

Our Nutrition Department is very excited to offer our students a wider variety of fruits and vegetables as part of their school lunch. Recently, we updated our salad bar offerings in accordance with federal requirements and we want to ensure our parents are aware of the changes.

Do you have a master builder that loves to work with LEGO bricks? If so, join us for LEGO Club where students will have open play time with LEGO sets, giving them an opportunity to develop and expand their creativity and imagination. Our LEGO Club will be split into two sessions: Grades 3rd-5th and 2nd-4th. Each session will be 4 weeks long.

Although high school is many years away for many of our elementary school families, we want all of our families to understand the long-term investment they are making by having their child attend Windsor Charter Academy. We are excited to announce that our students will be able to earn an Associate in Science degree at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The Clearview Library District and the Clearview Library District Friends and Foundation is hosting New York Times bestselling author William Kamkwamba on Saturday, February 22nd. Prior to the event, guests are invited to attend an Innovation Fair in the WHS cafeteria. Windsor Charter Academy will have a booth at the fair and Mrs. Shaler will be showcasing our students’ STEM projects!
