Childhood anxiety is becoming increasingly common among youth. In fact, there are now approximately 4.4 million children ranging from ages 3-17 who have been diagnosed with anxiety.

Windsor Charter Academy is partnering with the Weld County Substance Use Prevention Program and is hosting an informational seminar to learn more about “The Impact of Vaping, Marijuana, Opioids, and Fentanyl on Young People.” This seminar was originally scheduled for March 28th but has been rescheduled to April 16th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Windsor Charter Academy Middle/High School Classroom #145/147. Congratulations to our middle school students who participated in the Colorado Open Cup Stacking Championship last weekend! Diviya F., Tayla F., and Even V. all competed. Diviya earned two 2nd-place medals and a 3rd-place medal and placed 3rd all around. Tayla placed 4th in 3 events and was 4th overall in her division.

Our middle school students will perform Alice in Wonderland this spring. All middle school students are invited to try out for a role! Practices and tryouts will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning February 13th, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

On February 14th, middle school students are invited to wear pink or red to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Students are asked to follow Firebird Dress guidelines. Students are allowed to wear jeans for free on this day, but no pajamas.

The Disney Imagineering Club will draw on the inspiration of the Walt Disney Imagineers by studying the purpose and history of the Imagineers and learning about their process and creations.

Are you interested in earning your volunteer hours by helping our Farm-to-School Program? We are seeking volunteers to help prepare our scratch-made meals. If you are interested in volunteering for this program, please reach out to Jeannine Davison.

Windsor Charter Academy was awarded an Empower Grant from Poudre Valley REA! Mx. Madigent applied for a grant to purchase 3D Makerbot Sketch Printers for her art classroom.

It’s that time of year again! All middle school students will receive their 2024-2025 registration forms in the next few weeks. Registration forms are due by February 29th to the middle school front office. Students should also register in Infinite Campus by February 29th.

Congratulations to our 2nd Quarter Honor Roll recipients! These students will be recognized at school and receive a coupon for a “Firebird Dress Day” to be used on Tuesday, January 23rd.

Spring conferences will be scheduled from January 29th to February 9th.  Teachers will reach out to parents with whom they would like to schedule an individual or group conference. If you would like to request a conference with any of your students' teachers please email them to schedule a time.

Middle school students are invited to participate in Tech Club! In this club, students will learn about the history of computers, hardware, software, networking, game consoles, gaming physics, digital music, 3D printing, robots, and drones. At each meeting, we will focus on several STEAM topics!

The Weld RE-4 School District will host a teen marijuana prevention talk for parents from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Windsor High School Auditorium. Speaker Laura Stack from Johnny’s Ambassadors Youth Marijuana Prevention will present.

Does your student continually ask for cash to go to the concession stand? Surprise them with a digital gift card they can use to purchase snacks! Families can purchase a gift card at the concession stand or online.

As our first semester wraps up, our students are preparing for their finals. This time of the year can elevate their stress levels. Here are some tips to help your student manage their stress.

On Tuesday, December 5th starting at 5:30 p.m., middle and high school music students will show off their hard work by performing musical works for each other, family, and friends. All are welcome to attend an evening of musical entertainment!
