WCA Middle School students Domanick T., a 7th grader, and Ben F., an 8th grader, have some exciting news to celebrate!

Our students are preparing for finals week! The finals schedule for the spring semester for all middle school students is listed below.

After the Continuation Ceremony, students will be provided a dinner and then they will end the evening celebrating with the traditional 8th grade dance! Parents are asked to purchase a ticket to attend both the dinner and the dance.

On May 19th (8th grade only) and May 20th (6th & 7th grades), all in-person learners will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their last final exam.

Windsor Charter Academy’s middle and high school students are excited to host their first band concert! The Spring Concert will be held on May 6th in the MS/HS gym. Tickets are free but reservations must be made in advance through our online ticketing system.

We are excited to announce we will be hosting a barbeque for our 8th grade class on Friday, May 7th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are asking parents to volunteer for this event to manage the grill, serve food, or coordinate yard games.

Next week we are celebrating our students’ futures! Each Advisory Class can compete in a door decorating contest focused on careers. Students can also dress up each day!

The 8th Grade Dance will be held after the 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony on Wednesday, May 19th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are in need of adult helpers to chaperone the dance and help with snacks, drinks, and supervision.

This week in Advisory Class, students received information about Safe2Tell. Safe2Tell is an organization that was created to help make schools and communities safer by offering a way for people to make anonymous reports of dangerous and concerning behaviors.

Students at Windsor Charter Academy will be taking their Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests in April! CMAS tests are meaningful and relevant assessments that support rigorous academic standards.

Windsor Charter Academy is launching a High School Athletics Booster Club! Eighth grade families who will have a student in high school athletics are invited to join us for a meeting on April 14th at 4:00 p.m. in the HS Commons to learn more about how to support our Firebird athletes and help our growing athletics program!

Windsor Charter Academy is hosting a Middle School Cheer Camp for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students! Participants will learn more about becoming a Firebird cheerleader, meet our cheer coaches, learn new cheer routines, and have an opportunity to cheer at a middle school basketball home game!

Students participated in our last Firebird Strong activity of the year on Wednesday during Advisory Class. For Mental Health Awareness month, the focus for the activity was mental health awareness and supporting positive mental health.

Our spirit store is open for another round of orders!

As we prepare to go back to five days a week of in-person instruction, our staff will use Wednesday, March 3rd and Wednesday, March 10th as planning days. There will be no Zoom sessions for students on these days.

Middle school students should have received an email asking them to complete their quarter 4 elective options via a Google Form. This is their opportunity to request their elective preferences for quarter 4.

At the beginning of the school year, disinfectant wipes were difficult to find in stores and online. Now that supplies are replenishing in stores, our school would gladly accept any donations of disinfectant wipes.

Over the past several weeks, there have been numerous middle school students wearing sweatshirts that are not in dress code. If students would like to wear a sweatshirt while at school, please make sure they are wearing a sweatshirt approved as part of our dress code.

At Windsor Charter Academy, we encourage students to cultivate resilience. Over the past year, students have faced numerous obstacles to their learning and social lives and they have persevered through these obstacles.

MAP Test results will be given to students during their Advisory Class on Tuesday, February 2nd. Please make sure to ask your student for their results and review it with them!
