Congratulations to senior Maggie A. who won the P.E.O. National STAR scholarship! This scholarship was established in 2009 to help young women of stellar academic achievement reach for the stars through educational grants, loans, and scholarships.

Windsor Charter Academy’s Parent & Student Safety Committee hosts a variety of safety webinars throughout the year. On May 3rd, Carolyn Mader, owner of Mending Hearts Counseling, will be presenting “The Threat of Pornography: How to Speak to Your Teens About Porn.”

On May 19th, all 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will turn in their school-issued Chromebook and charger after their last final exam. Students with an off-block during Period 4 will turn in their device and charger during Period 2. Each Chromebook has a blue and silver inventory tag with an asset number.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 2nd. We are looking for a family or a business to sponsor $250 for the coffee truck so that all of our high school teachers treat themselves to a coffee that week.

Join the WCA Music Department at our Senior Showcase Concert on Friday, April 22nd at 5:30 p.m. in the HS Commons. Seniors have prepared solos, duets, and small group performances on their own and will share them with their families and friends.

In an effort to promote student wellness and healthy choices, all 9th and 10th graders will be attending an informative presentation about the dangers of JUULing, vaping, and e-cigarette use on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

On April 21st at 11:00 a.m. our junior and senior classes will attend a mandatory meeting in the MS/HS Gymnasium. Students have been made aware of this meeting through email and are expected to attend.

We invite our parent community to join us at our MS/HS AVID Showcase to learn more about the program and see AVID in action in our middle and high school classrooms! The AVID Showcase will be held on April 29th and has varying session times.

Students at Windsor Charter Academy will be taking their Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests in April! CMAS tests are meaningful and relevant assessments that support rigorous academic standards.

This is just a reminder that all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take the PSAT or SAT on Wednesday, April 13th!

Students who fail a course will have the option of attending summer school. Parents will be notified in May if their student is recommended to enroll in summer school.

Members of the National Honor Society will be hosting FREE SAT/PSAT tutoring sessions for high school students from 3:15 pm - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday 4/6, Thursday 4/7, Monday 4/11, and Tuesday 4/12.

Real Talk: Paying for College Edition will be held on Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. Real Talk is a safe space for Black students and their families to connect with colleges and access organizations across the country.

After-Prom tickets are now on sale! Students are invited to the Eagles Nest at The Summit on April 23rd from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Student can enjoy unlimited bowling, beverages, pool, laser tag, arcade games, food and appetizers. Students can also win over $1,000 in prizes!

Windsor Charter Academy has the opportunity to offer an ALIVE AT 25 presentation. The Colorado Alive at 25 program is managed through a joint partnership between the National Safety Council, the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation.
