WCA’s Student Council has another spirit week lined up for our students! Students can dress up the week of April 19th through 23rd.

Windsor Charter Academy’s HS Student Council will be selling tickets to Prom and Morp (prom spelled backwards) before school and during lunch. Tickets are $10 each.

Students at Windsor Charter Academy will be taking their Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests in April! CMAS tests are meaningful and relevant assessments that support rigorous academic standards.

Windsor Charter Academy is launching a High School Athletics Booster Club! High school families who will have a student interested in athletics are invited to join us for a meeting on April 14th at 4:00 p.m. in the HS Commons.

This week, Ms. Seneca will be going into all Sophomore Explorer classes to give a presentation from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on e-cigarette use in teens. Parents are highly encouraged to view these resources to gain awareness and information about teenage vaping and e-cigarettes.

Windsor Charter Academy students can order a high school letter jacket! K&W Printing, located in Windsor, specializes in personalized letter jackets for Windsor Charter Academy students. Students can choose their jacket style, trim, and fabric combination.

Due to the pandemic, colleges across the world have set up virtual college tours for prospective students.

Seniors will have a mandatory senior class meeting on March 22nd at 10:15 a.m. in the gym.

At WCA, we strive to ensure that our students are academically, socially, and emotionally supported. We also strive to share resources with our parent community that we find helpful when supporting students. Robbie’s Hope is one of those resources.

Windsor Charter Academy Early College High School is launching a Summer Internship Program! WCA is looking to partner with business owners in northern Colorado who have internship opportunities available to students. As a parent, you may own a business or know of a business that has internship opportunities available.

As we prepare for five days a week of in-person instruction, our staff will use Wednesday, March 3rd and Wednesday, March 10th as planning days. There will be no Zoom sessions for students on these days. Teachers will assign asynchronous assignments for students on both days

On Tuesday, April 13th, all freshmen and sophomores will take the PSAT and juniors will take the SAT. There are two math sections on these tests - students can use a calculator on one of the sections. It is very important that students bring an approved calculator to use on test day. We do not have enough calculators to hand out.

Students who are registering for COM 115, MAT 121, or CHE 101 next year will need to take the English and/or math Accuplacer. These test will be administered on March 24th and 25th.

Last weekend, WCA’s VEX Robotics teams were excited to be able to compete in their first live event on our campus! The 80550Y team won their skills-only event an qualified for the state competition!

Coping with stress in healthy ways is a topic that Ms. Seneca, our high school counselor, talks to students about on a daily basis. For parents, it can be challenging to determine if problematic behavior is a normal stage of adolescent development or if it is part of a more a serious mental health concern such as depression or anxiety.

This spring, all juniors will take the SAT at Windsor Charter Academy. This is a required assessment that is paid for by the Colorado Department of Education. There is no cost to families.
