Wednesday, May 3rd is National Bike and Roll to School Day! We encourage families who are able to join in the fun by riding their bikes, scooters, or even walking to school on this day.

Students at Windsor Charter Academy will be taking their Colorado Measures of Academic Success  (CMAS) tests in April!  CMAS tests are meaningful and relevant assessments that support rigorous academic standards.

We are excited to start planning for the next school year! Windsor Charter Academy teachers and administrators have the responsibility to place all children within a classroom environment that best suits their academic, social, and behavioral needs.

Windsor Charter Academy’s Cheer Team is hosting a Cheer Clinic for all elementary school students! Participants will learn more about becoming a Firebird cheerleader, meet our cheer coaches, learn cheer routines, and have an opportunity to cheer at a home game!

Our elementary school is excited to have a new Cheer Club! Participants will learn cheer routines and dances.

All student items including lunch boxes, jackets, sweaters, etc., need to be labeled with student names. Items are returned to students on Wednesdays if they are labeled with student names (not initials).

Kindergarten, first, and second grade students are excited to invite families to their music program on March 23rd!  Each music program will last 20 minutes.

Students are encouraged to wear green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. All students who wear green may have a Free Jeans Day!

We are excited to share with you that our school will be participating in “Bring Your Parent/Guardian to PE Week” from March 20th to 24th. Daily physical activity has many benefits for children, such as increasing their energy, focus, and readiness to learn, as well as reducing stress and anxiety.

Windsor Charter Academy’s Parent-Teacher Club (PTC) is excited to host Family Dance Night! Enjoy an evening full of music, dancing, and concession items. The first 500 guest will receive flower leis!

The 5th grade Student Council’s 3rd quarter service project was to sell hot chocolate at school each Friday morning. With the generous support of our families, we were able to raise $750 for Children’s Hospital Colorado!

Windsor Charter Academy’s teachers want to make sure that our incoming kindergarten students have a great start to the school year! On Friday, April 28th, Windsor Charter Academy’s kindergarten teachers will work one-on-one with incoming kindergarten students to assess their level of basic kindergarten skills.

The 5th Grade Changing Bodies Class will be offered March 20th through 24th from 12:25 to 1:20 p.m. each day. This class helps both boys and girls to understand the physical and emotional changes they experience during puberty and acknowledge these changes as a normal part of growth and development. 

Windsor Charter Academy welcomes family members and friends to volunteer or participate in all of the exciting activities at our schools! We prioritize school safety and want to ensure that all those who enter our buildings are committed to keeping our community safe.

As a reminder, school breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Supervision begins in the backyard for all other students beginning at 7:40 a.m. Students should not be dropped off before 7:40 a.m. for safety reasons, unless eating breakfast.

The weather and temperature are monitored throughout the school day to determine if extreme weather conditions are forecasted. The weather in Colorado changes frequently, so It is important that students are sent to school with appropriate clothing for cold weather conditions.

We are looking for a volunteer to assist with our lost and found items. We would like a volunteer to come in every other week and sort through lost and found items. If an item has a name on it, the volunteer will deliver it to the child.

It’s time for our Science Fair! Fifth grade students will be presenting science fair projects on Friday, February 16th. Parents are welcome to come visit projects in the 5th grade classroom from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.  

First grade students have been learning about the culture of Mexico as part of their unit on modern civilizations. During their celebration, they will participate in different activities that support and enrich the Core Knowledge curriculum. 

On Thursday, March 2nd, in honor of National Read Across America Day, we invite students and staff to come to school dressed as their favorite book character. Costumes must be free of weapons of any kind, face masks, or excessive face paint (no blood/gore).
