Research suggests that the learning process is 50 percent social-emotional (SEL) and 50 percent cognitive. In other words, academic success, for many students, depends equally on their social  emotional, as well as cognitive development. This interactive presentation is designed to teach you what SEL is and then help you find little moments in your lessons to implement SEL while still keeping your primary focus on teaching skills and content in your area. We will comb through different elements of your lessons together to find opportune times for SEL instruction so that you can help your students use their SEL skills to further their cognitive skills.
